Design and durability of the tent warehouse

The GS406021 tent has been designed for high durability, particularly in harsh weather conditions. Its structure is based on a steel frame made of galvanised tubes, ensuring corrosion resistance and longevity. The main frame components are **60x1.5 mm** diameter tubes, which form sturdy load-bearing arches and purlins, enabling the tent to withstand wind loads of up to 80 km/h and snow loads of up to 0.28 kPa.

The tent’s exceptional durability is due to the use of strong steel components, such as the vertical sidewall tubes and truss-style roof elements, which provide additional stability in areas exposed to strong winds and heavy precipitation. All tube joints are secured with repair tape, which minimises the risk of damage to the tarpaulin, whilst additional tensioners ensure the roof fabric is properly tensioned.

Functionality and applications

The 12-metre-wide storage tent is a product that can be used across many sectors, ranging from the storage of building materials, through providing space for agricultural machinery, to the protection of industrial goods. Thanks to its spacious dimensions – 12.2 metres wide and with lengths ranging from 12 metres to 64 metres – the tent offers a large usable area that can be adapted to various needs.

The height at the ridge of the tent is 6.4 m, which allows for the storage of even large items and machinery, whilst also providing ample space for manoeuvring vehicles inside the tent. The wide 4x4 m doors, operated by a winch, facilitate entry and exit, which is particularly useful in high-traffic areas such as construction sites or logistics warehouses.

Assembly and use

Assembling a GS40 series storage tent is quick and easy thanks to the detailed instructions and clearly labelled components. The assembly process requires only basic tools, such as spanner sets, a spirit level and a ladder. The kit also includes ground anchors, which allow the tent to be securely anchored to a firm surface. It is important to ensure that the ground is properly levelled and stable before assembly. In the case of unstable or loose ground, it is recommended to cast concrete foundations measuring 80x80x80 cm beneath the support posts, which further secures the structure against movement.

During assembly, it is crucial to fit the individual frame elements and base panels precisely, ensuring they are parallel and maximising the stability of the entire tent. The structure is fitted with steel tension cables which stabilise the roof and side walls, increasing rigidity and wind resistance.

Tarpaulin and weather resistance

The storage tent is covered with a tarpaulin made of durable PVC material, resistant to UV radiation and moisture. The tarpaulin is additionally protected against mechanical damage, ensuring the tent is ready for use even in harsh weather conditions. The correct tension of the tarpaulin is maintained using the transport straps and tensioners included in the set.

One of the most important aspects of using the tent is regularly checking the condition of the tarpaulin and the tension of the fabric. If the tarpaulin is too loose, particularly after heavy snowfall, so-called ‘sags’ may form, which must be rectified by retensioning the fabric.

Furthermore, it is recommended to periodically check the storage tent’s anchoring to the ground, particularly after strong winds, to ensure safety and long-term use.
