Czy zadaszenia na blokach betonowych nadają się do długoterminowego użytkowania?

Do you have a recycling business and are looking for a solution that is strong, durable and yet - easy to erect without the excessive paperwork of planning permission? Concrete block canopies are the solution for you. What are they, what are their advantages and what does the building law have to say about them - let's find out!

What are canopies on concrete blocks?

Concrete block canopies are lightweight, modular structures designed to quickly and flexibly secure storage spaces, especially in the recycling sector. Their main advantage is their compatibility with the popular concrete lego blocks, which act as a base without the need for traditional foundations.

A good quality canopy - such as the one offered by iNamiot.pl/gb/ - is a load-bearing structure made of high-quality galvanised steel that meets both Polish and European safety and durability standards. The covering is a flame-retardant and waterproof membrane available in 750 g/m² or 900 g/m² variants, which provides durable protection against adverse weather conditions. Thanks to their modular construction, these canopies can be easily assembled and dismantled, and can be enlarged if required.

Are they suitable for long-term use? Overview of canopy features

Concrete block-mounted canopies are designed for long-term use, as evidenced by their key structural and functional features. First and foremost, durability - the galvanised steel used for the load-bearing structure is highly resistant to corrosion and changing weather conditions, while the flame-retardant and waterproof roof membrane further protects stored materials.

The modularity of the system allows the facility to be easily adapted to changing needs - it can be assembled or dismantled, expanded, reduced or transformed in a matter of days, which is impossible, for example, with anchored structures. The lack of foundations, on the other hand, makes it easy to relocate the canopy or quickly install it in new locations, which increases its usefulness in the long term.

Effective protection of stored products from rain, snow and wind make canopy boxes perform well in a variety of roles in industrial sectors and as warehouses, without losing functionality despite the passage of time. A product that started out as a cover for stored waste will serve with equal effectiveness as a roof for a waste collection point or sorting plant.

Where can concrete block roofs be used?

Concrete box silo shelters are widely used primarily in the recycling industry, where they serve to protect stored waste and recyclables from the elements. Their modular design and ability to be quickly erected without foundations also make them ideal as temporary or permanent storage spaces.

Thanks to their high construction height, equipment such as forklifts or loaders can be used freely, making them a functional solution in logistics, industry, agriculture or municipal operations. The flexibility of configuration allows the canopy to be tailored to specific needs, regardless of the industry.

What about the law?

From a legal point of view, canopies on concrete blocks are a solution that fully complies with waste storage requirements. According to § 4(3) of the Council of Ministers Ordinance of 11 September 2020 on detailed requirements for waste storage, waste stored outdoors must be protected from the effects of precipitation and wind blowing. The covered concrete block boxes effectively meet these requirements, protecting stored raw materials and waste from the weather.

What is more, this construction fits into the exceptions provided for by the building law - according to Article 29(2)(7), facilities without permanent foundations and intended to be used at a given location for a maximum of 180 days do not require a building permit. This gives a lot of leeway when planning to move canopies between locations.

If, however, such a canopy is planned for long-term use in one location, it is possible to erect it on the basis of a notification, provided that its area does not exceed 35 m² and that no more than two such structures are erected on a plot of at least 500 m² - as regulated by Article 29(2)(14)(c). Thanks to these provisions, canopies on concrete blocks are not only practical and durable, but also comply with current legislation, making them an attractive alternative to traditional building solutions.

Canopies on concrete blocks as a long-term solution - well worth it!

Concrete block canopies are definitely suitable for long-term use. Their modularity and lack of foundations allow them to be quickly erected and dismantled and used in various locations. Their durable construction and materials ensure that the canopies will not lose their properties even after repeatedly changing locations or being set up in one place for long periods of time. These structures meet the legal requirements for waste storage and often do not require planning permission. As a result, they are not only functional from a practical point of view, but also do not create additional work for formal documentation. Canopies mounted on concrete blocks are not only practical and economical, but above all durable - ideal for long-term use in a variety of industries.
